I said this in class in an abreviated fashion. Here is the typical Mrs. White's long winded version...
As Thanksgiving approaches. . .I am thankful for each of you - sappy as it sounds and what you have taught me this semester. I'd say I'm thankful you have listened to me preach - but then - what choice did you have . I'm thankful for students who want to learn, who email and ask questions, who call and make sure, who put family first, who come to class when they don't feel like it, who know when they need to check their priority list and stay home (or go to the hospital), who choose a different major when they realize teaching isn't for them, who dig in and give it their all for the love of children, who know when to laugh it off and realize it's not about the grade it's about what they've learned - and they've learned all they can for that day, who believe that no matter where you come from, how much money your parents have in their pocket, how much education they had, what language they speak, what their skin color is, how well they can walk, talk, think, hear or see . . . I am thankful for the student who believes that child can - despite what society would say - can learn at high levels and WANTS to teach them. That's why I am thankful for so many of you.

I want to say that I agree with you 100%. I have always said that family comes first. I am thankful for my family, my church family, and my friends. If I don't get the chance later to say it, I have really enjoyed this class. If you teach a classroom full of kids like you teach college classes, judging by this I am sure you were one of the best teachers ever found. This is my 19th year in the school system and I have seen so many that just do not care if a child learns or not. I pray that God will help me make a difference in children's lives just like I'm sure you have. Teaching is definitely not for everyone but when I started working in FMD 17 years ago, I knew that would be my place in life and I thank God for putting me in a position where I feel I can make a difference. I hope everyone has a very safe and blessed Thanksgiving. Enjoy your loved ones while you can.
Thanks for the wonderful Thanksgiving message, Mrs. White.
I have really enjoyed your class this semester and I will be sad (yet glad) when it's all over. You have given your all to our class, and I appreciate having you as my teacher. Thank you for all you do.
I just want to say thanks for the awesome message. Its really easy to see how much you really do care about our class and how much we learn. It really makes me want to strive to be the best teacher that I can be. Thanks for everything.
I want to say thankyou for caring so much about your job and about us. It's nice to have a teacher who cares about the students not the paycheck. It stinks when you take classes from a professor who only cares about the check. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Also, I want to say thankyou for all of your motivation that you give all of us. It means alot. :)
Thanks Mrs. White,
I have to say that when I came to this university I never thought I would have a teacher who cares as much as you do...So Thanks
